17th Sunday in Ordinary Time
What is that between so many? (John 6:9)
Priest:
The Lord takes our small offerings and makes great things of them. In humility and trust, let us now bring before him our needs and concerns.
Reader:
For Francis our Pope, Archbishop Bernard, the auxiliary bishops, and all leaders of the Church; may the Lord strengthen them to carry out his work.
Lord, hear us.
For all those who experience spiritual hunger:
may they might turn to the Lord and find consolation in him.
Lord, hear us.
For the hungry, and all those whose struggle to find the basic needs for life;
We remember in particular all who make use of the food bank.
May we share with them from of our own abundance.
Lord, hear us.
For those who are in any kind of need,
the poor, the homeless, exiles and refugees, and those persecuted for their faith:
may the Lord, protector of the weak, be their comfort and the source of justice
Lord, hear us.
For those who have departed this life.
may their deepest hunger be satisfied at the banquet of eternal life.
Lord, hear us.
We ask Mary, Mother of the Saviour, to intercede for all God’s people as we pray together. Hail Mary…
In silence, let us make our own intentions to God.
Priest:
God our Father, you open wide your hand and grant our desires. Nourished by the Eucharist, may we be always faithful to our baptismal calling. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
