30th Sunday in Ordinary Time : The Universal Prayer / Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

PRIEST:

Out of our Love for God and for our neighbour, let us pray to our Father in heaven who hears the cries of all who are in need.

READER:

For the church and its leaders – may it continue to preach the loving mercy of God with fidelity, humility and in true compassion.

Lord, hear us.

For all who are sick or suffering - mentally, physically, emotionally - and all who care for them:

that they may know the love of God through the practical love shown to them by all Christian people.

Lord, hear us.

For those who are outsiders, and those who struggle to provide the necessities of life or who are burdened with debt: that they may be treated with compassion and generosity.

Lord, hear us.

For those who have died in Christ,

that they may receive the reward of eternal life. Lord, hear us.

Let us now pray for a moment in silence.

We now ask Mary, our Mother most pure, to intercede for us as we pray: Hail Mary…

PRIEST:

Lord God, may all our words and actions spring from our love of you and of our neighbour. Receive our prayers in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time (A) : The Universal Prayer / Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time (A)

Priest:

God, the source of all power and majesty, calls us to be his faithful servants. As we stand before him now, let us ask him for the blessings of his merciful love.

Reader:

We pray for our Holy Father, Pope Francis, that he may be steadfast in the face of criticism and hostility, and inspirational to all who are ready to listen. Lord, hear us..

We pray for the leaders of the nations, and all who exercise positions of authority: may they strive always for the greater good, so that equality, justice, and peace may be firmly established everywhere. Lord, hear us..

We pray for ourselves, and for all who strive to keep the faith. May we reflect on the truth and riches of God’s Word and so always be ready  to share the great gifts of his love. Lord, hear us.

As we recall the 50th anniversary of the passing of the law in this country which permits abortion, we pray for all those who are considering this action, whether through indifference or despair. May we show compassion and understanding on those in distress, and protect as far as we can, the sanctity of all human life. Lord, hear us.

We pray for all who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith:  May He who destroyed death and restored life comfort those who mourn, and bring all the holy souls into His eternal home.  Lord, hear us.

We ask Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Rosary, to intercede for us as we say:  Hail Mary

In silent prayer we now recall our private intentions.

Priest:

Father, almighty and eternal God, listen to our prayers, and in your compassion and mercy grant us only what we truly need. We ask this in the name of Jesus, your Son, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen

28th Sunday in Ordinary Time : The Universal Prayer / Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

28th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Priest:

God fulfils all our needs and is the source of everything we have and all that we are.  We ask Him to listen to our prayers of intercession, for we know that without Him we can do nothing.

Reader:

We pray for the Church:  that it may radiate the example of Christ through its leaders and peoples and encourage all to be called to take on the new garments of life in Christ and so be clothed in love, truth, peace and goodness,

Lord, hear us.

We pray that we may be responsive to the invitation of the Lord, remembering that nothing is impossible to God and that there is nothing we cannot master with the help of the one who gives us strength,

Lord, hear us.

We pray for the work of the St Barnabas Society   May we be generous in supporting those give up their livelihood and even their homes, to accept the invitation of Christ to enter into the true fold of the Church, Lord, hear us.

We pray for all those who have died recently and those whose anniversaries fall at this time.  May He who destroyed death and who wipes away every tear lead them through the valley of darkness into the radiance of His glorious resurrection, Lord, hear us.

We turn to Our Lady, Queen of the Rosary, and ask her to intercede with us as we say: Hail Mary

Let us pause to meet the Lord in a moment of silent prayer.

Priest:

Heavenly Father, Shepherd of your people, in your love and compassion hear our prayers and make us always eager to accept your invitation to serve you in faith, hope and love, now and forevermore.  Amen

Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time (A) : The Universal Prayer / Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time (A)

Priest:

Brothers and sisters, we now turn to God in prayer, for the needs of the Church and the whole world.

Reader:

We pray for the church - Pope Francis, Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Religious and laity.  May we all be fruitful labourers in the vineyard of the Lord, bearing justice, integrity and love to all.

Lord, hear us.

We pray for those who lead and govern the nations of this world.  May the Holy Spirit guide them to be wise in their judgements and honest in all that they do, so that fear, hatred and oppression may give way to reconciliation, peace and harmony.  Lord, hear us.

We pray for all those in economic difficulties; for those who have been made redundant; for those whose incomes are reduced, for those whose self-esteem has been taken away; for those who have lost hope.  May we support each other in prayer and practise and work together for the good of all.

Lord, hear us.

We pray for the work of CAFOD, that it may continue its work with children around the world, many of whom know only pain, despair and survival, to be enabled to reach their full potential and look to the future with hope. Lord, hear us..

We pray for those who have died.  May the light of Christ draw them to Him that their sins may be forgiven and eternal peace be theirs in His presence. Lord, hear us.

In this month of the Rosary, we turn to Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, asking her to join our prayers with hers as we say: Hail Mary

Let us pray quietly for our own personal intentions.

Priest:

God, our loving Father, we ask you to hear our prayers which we make in faith, hope and love and in the name of Jesus Christ , your Son, our Lord and Saviour.  Amen.
