Pentecost: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

PRIEST:

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, let us turn to God for all our needs

READER:

Let us pray for N our bishop [and his auxiliary bishops]. Lord bless them with the gift of the Holy Spirit and so guide them in their work.
Lord in your mercy

Let us pray that we, the church, should be inspired by the fellowship of the Holy Spirit so our everyday lives may be a witness to your love.
Lord in your mercy

The Holy Spirit breathes where he will. May he send forth the mighty wind of his power, so that we in our lives and in this Eucharist may experience a new Pentecost.
Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for all our young people especially those doing important exams at this time of year. May the Holy Spirit inspire them to work hard and may they reap their just rewards.
Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for those who have died and received the healing sacrament in this life. May the Lord greet them with love and mercy and grant them the happiness of his kingdom.
Lord in your mercy

Let us turn to Our Lady, filled with Spirit, to intercede for us as we say, Hail Mary...

Let us pray for our own intentions in silence.

PRIEST:

God our Father,
we pray that you will accept these prayers
in the power of your Spirit,
through your beloved Son,
our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

Ascension: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:

Let us pray to God, through Jesus Christ his Son who was taken up to heaven and intercedes for us at His Father’s right hand.

Reader:

As we celebrate the feast of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus let it inspire in us feelings of joy and hope. Lord in your mercy

For the pope, bishops and clergy, that through their witness to the Risen Lord they may continue to preach His gospel of love and peace in confidence and faith. Lord in your mercy

For those in need, the suffering and oppressed, that through the Ascension of Our Lord they may be inspired to trust in God’s promise of eternal happiness Lord in your mercy

For those who have died, may they be granted the fullness of life and joy in Heaven. Lord in your mercy

Let us turn to Our Lady, Mother of Divine Grace, and seek her intercession as we say, Hail Mary ...

In the solitude of our hearts we bring before God our own needs and Intentions.

Priest:

Loving Father, who raised your Son Jesus Christ into glory, grant our prayers and welcome us to the table of your eternal banquet, through Christ our Lord. Amen

Easter 6: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:

We give thanks to Christ our Lord, who loves and cares for us and turn to Him in trust as we pray.

Reader:

For the church – that inspired by the Holy Spirit she may continue to demonstrate in words and actions the love of Christ to all peoples. Lord in your mercy,

For missionaries – may they be guided by the Holy Spirit as they proclaim the Good News to our brothers and sisters who live in ignorance of His saving love. Lord in your mercy.

For those Christians persecuted for their faith – may they be comforted in this Easter season by the One who suffered for all on the cross. Lord in your mercy.

For ourselves - That through the Holy Spirit we may be granted the wisdom to follow Christ’s command to love one another and see Him in all whom we meet in our daily lives. Lord in your mercy.

For those who are ill at this time, especially members of our parish – may they experience Christ’s healing love. Lord in your mercy.

For the holy souls – may we and all who have died follow where He has led and find hope in His glory. Lord in your mercy.

We turn to Mary, the Mystical Rose, and seek her intercession as we say Hail Mary

In the silence of our hearts we bring our own needs and intentions to the Lord

Priest:

Father you sent Jesus to show us how to live and care for each other, accept these prayers we offer in the name of Christ your Son our Lord. Amen

Easter 5: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:

He is the vine and we are the branches. Drawing strength from his love, let us present our needs to our Father.

Reader:

We pray for the Church that she may continue to make Jesus known to the world through words of hope and works of love. Lord, hear us

We pray for our bishops, priests and deacons that they may be fruitful branches of Jesus, the life-giving vine, and that they may never fail to proclaim the Gospel even in the face of adversity or trial Lord, hear us.

Let us pray for the sick and those who care for them: that Christ may be the cornerstone of their lives and a firm hope in times of trouble. Lord, hear us.

For those who have died, especially those whose anniversaries occur at this time, may they be granted the fullness of life and joy in heaven. Lord, hear us.

With Mary, who already shares in the resurrection, we pray, Hail Mary ...

Now, let us make our private petitions to our heavenly Father.

Priest:

Heavenly Father, the vine grower, we ask that your Spirit may work in and through us to make us branches that bear much fruit for your kingdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
