Third Sunday of Lent

Priest:
Let us now turn to God, imploring his mercy, that he look with on our prayers with eternal love and unending compassion.

Reader:
For the Church; through the holiness of the lives of Christians, may all people come to know God’s infinite love.
Lord, hear us.

For all law-makers throughout the world;
may they enact laws that are just and which respect the gift of human life, especially the rights and dignity of the unborn, the sick and the elderly.
Lord, hear us.

For the many places in our world that are fractured and divided by race, language or culture. May all people recognise each other as brothers and sisters.
Lord, hear us.

For all who are preparing for baptism or full communion with the Catholic Church at Easter. May these weeks of Lent bring about deeper faith and prayer.
Lord, hear us.

For our parish community; may Lent enable us to be truly reconciled to each other and to God through faith, hope and love.
Lord, hear us.

For those who have died, those known to us, and those whose faith is known to God alone. May they rest in peace in the everlasting life that awaits us all
Lord, hear us.

May Mary join her prayers to ours as we pray Hail Mary.

Let us now pray for a moment in silence.

Priest:
Almighty Father, we believe that your beloved Son is the Saviour of the world. Answer our prayers and give us a share in his life for ever and ever. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Second Sunday of Lent (B)


Priest:
As we reflect on the glory of the transfiguration. May God, the loving Father, shower his heavenly blessings on our prayers.

Reader:

For Pope Francis; for bishops clergy and religious; and for the whole Church. 
May we work together in our calling to be faithful witnesses
and so draw all we meet to experience the glory of the Gospel.
Lord, hear us.

For the people of all troubled areas of the world.
May Christ's love touch them with peace and rest.
Lord, hear us.

For CAFOD, and other Aid Agencies as they face continual demands on their resources from so many places and peoples,
may their work may be generously resourced and richly blessed by God.
Lord, hear us.

For those who have recently died, and for all whose anniversaries occur at this time, may they rest in the peace and joy of heaven.
Lord, hear us.

We ask Our Blessed Lady to help us in our prayers, as we say - Hail Mary.

Now in silence we pray for our own needs and intentions.

Priest:
Father, you called Abraham to be a model of faith, and you glorified your Son, Jesus. May we live in the hope and trust that you are always with us. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

As we begin the season of Lent let us bring our needs and the needs of the world in prayer to God, the Almighty Father.

Reader:
For Pope Francis and all bishops, priests and religious: may they be strengthened with God’s grace to lead us in the ways of holiness, repentance and prayer.
Lord, hear us.

For ourselves: that we may persevere with our Lenten resolutions, enrich our spiritual lives, and prepare carefully for Easter
Lord, hear us.

For those peoples hit by violence and ethnic and religious divisions,
that every nation may strive to support every initiative in the pursuit of peace.
Lord, hear us.

For the sick and those who care for them,
that they may trust in God's loving mercy, and turn again to God, who alone has the power to heal and save.
Lord, hear us.

For those of our community who have left this world, and for all the holy souls:
may the Lord be merciful to them and give them everlasting happiness.
Lord, hear us.

Let us ask Our Lady to help us as we pray Hail Mary

We ask you Almighty God to hear and answer all our prayers

Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)

Priest:
On this world day of prayer for the sick, we turn to the Lord and ask that his healing touch may be felt throughout the Church and the world.

Reader:
For Pope Francis; clergy and religious; and for the whole Church.  May we work together in our calling to be faithful witnesses, and so draw all we meet to experience the Good News of the Lord.
Lord, hear us..

When Christ cured the leper he asked him to show himself to the priest. We pray that in our search for healing we may be ready to offer our thanksgiving to God.
Lord, hear us..

For the unemployed, those threatened with redundancy, the homeless, the lonely and those struggling to feed themselves or their families. May we reach out to them and help them with the Lord’s compassion, so that they may see a way forward in their lives.
Lord, hear us..

May the Lord grant eternal rest to all who have died,
those who are known to us and those who have no-one to pray for them.
Lord, hear us..

Let us now join our prayers with the prayers of Our Lady of Lourdes, as we say together. Hail Mary…

In the silence of our hearts we make our private petitions known to God.

Priest:
Accept our prayers of humble petition
as we place our trust in you
and grant that what we ask in faith we may surely obtain,
through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)

Priest
Trusting in our heavenly Father, let us bring all our needs to Him in prayer.

Reader
For the Church: that we may be active in doing Christ’s work in the world, by uniting ourselves in prayer to his heart and his will.
Lord, hear us..

For political leaders, that they will be attentive to the needs of the poor, the vulnerable and the suffering.
Lord, hear us..

For all who are sick, both at home or in hospital, those suffering physically and those struggling with mental illness or distress,
that may they experience healing and peace
Lord, hear us..

For all who have died, especially those who die alone, unloved and unwanted, that the Lord may receive them into his Kingdom.
Lord, hear us.

Let us ask now for the intercession of Our Blessed Lady, as we say: Hail Mary …

Let us now pray for a few moments of silent prayer.

Father, in your loving kindness,
we ask you to hear and answer all our prayers
which we make in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
