The Birth of John the Baptist: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:

Out of love for God, who first loved us, let us bring our requests to Him in prayer.

Reader:

For the bishops and priests of the Church.
May the Holy Spirit guide them in their vocations.
Lord in your mercy

We pray for vocations to the priesthood, the diaconate and to the religious life so that, just as John the Baptist was sent to prepare for the coming of Jesus, there will always be men and women dedicated to administering the Sacraments of the Church.
Lord in your mercy

For all who provide our food, we pray that they may be guided to find ethical ways of feeding the world, so that no-one need ever go hungry or thirsty again .
Lord in your mercy

We pray for the sick, the lonely, the dying and those recently deceased,; may the living be comforted and the dead be welcomed into heaven. Lord in your mercy

Now let us pray, in silence, for our own needs and intentions.

Let us ask Our Lady to intercede for us as we say together Hail Mary…

Priest:

God, our Father, we ask you to grant all our prayers because we make them in faith through our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen

Corpus Christi: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:
Inspired by the Holy Spirit let us give thanks to God for all our needs.

Reader:
On this great feast of Corpus Christi let us pray for all our Clergy, Deacons and ministers of Holy Communion. May they and we be ever mindful of the great gift to us of Christ’s Body and Blood, welcoming us as brothers and sisters to spread the Good News to all people.
Lord, hear us.

We pray for the Church, may the celebrations of the sacraments, especially the Holy Mass, fill us with a sense not only of God’s nearness, but also with awe at his greatness and compassion.
Lord, hear us.

We pray for those deprived of the sacraments, may we be one in love and prayer with all those who are not allowed to practice their faith, and cannot receive their Lord in the Eucharist.
Lord, hear us.

Let us pray for the souls of all the faithful who have died especially those whose anniversaries occur this week. May they rest in peace. Lord, hear us.

We pray with Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ our High Priest: Hail Mary.

We make our private petitions in silence to God our Father.

Priest:

Father, may the prayers we have offered come before your heavenly altar as tokens of our trust and worship. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

For the Church. May she be faithful to Christ’s command to make disciples of all nations and may she flourish throughout the world. Lord in your mercy

For bishops priests and deacons. May they work tirelessly to foster within the hearts of the people a strong love for their faith. Lord in your mercy

For all Christians. May they preach the good news of Jesus Christ through their chosen lifestyles, in their role as parent, spouse, single person, priest or religious, to give glory to God and witness to each other. Lord in your mercy

For those who have died, remembering especially members of our own families and of the Parish. May they experience the everlasting peace of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Lord in your mercy

We offer these our prayers and the prayers of all God’s people, living and dead, to the intercession of Mary, Mother of the Church, as we say together: Hail Mary…

We now pray for a few moments in the silence of our hearts.

Priest
Father, in the power of the Holy Spirit, we make these prayers through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
