Eleventh Sunday of the Year (Year B) : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Eleventh Sunday of the Year (Year B)

Priest

As we gather together at this Eucharistic celebration, we remember that the Lord is the source of our life and growth. In faith, we pray for those needs that we see in our community.

Reader:

For bishops priests, deacons and religious sisters. May they work tirelessly to foster within the hearts of the people a strong love for their faith.
Lord in your mercy

For the young people of our parish (especially those who are receiving their First Holy Communion at Our Lady’s this weekend) and for all who influence their lives, be they parents, grandparents, teachers or friends. May they be nurtured and supported to realise their full potential in the eyes of The Lord.
Lord in your mercy

For all who are taking examinations now and during the coming weeks. May they work hard, apply themselves well and handle the outcomes with good grace.
Lord in your mercy

For those who have died, remembering especially members of our own families and of the Parish. May they experience the everlasting peace of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Lord in your mercy

Let us ask Mary, the mother of Jesus and Mother of the Church to join her prayers to ours as we say: Hail Mary...

We now pray for a few moments in the silence.

Priest

Father, in the power of the Holy Spirit, we make these prayers through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
