26th Sunday of the Year (B) : The Universal Prayer / Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

26th Sunday of the Year (B)
Anyone who is not against us is for us. (Mark 9:40)

The Priest says:
My brothers and sisters, let us join together to pray for the needs of our Church, our country and ourselves, forgetting not the many needs of all humanity.

Reader:
Let us pray for all bishops, priests, deacons and religious, and others with roles of leadership and responsibility in the Church: may God fill them with love and mercy and guide them in their work.
Lord, hear us.

Let us pray for those who continue Christ’s work of love, mercy and assistance of those in need, even if they do recognise the stirring of his will amongst them, that they may be blessed by him in their work.
Lord, hear us.

Let us pray for the sick, the sorrowful, those in any kind of need and for all who care for them, that they may trust in God's loving kindness and take comfort in his mercy.
Lord, hear us.

Let us pray those who have died, and for those whose anniversaries occur at this time, that they may know the peace which comes from sharing in Christ's victory over death. Lord, hear us.

Let us join our prayers with the prayers of Our blessed Lady: Hail Mary.

We make our private petitions in silence.

The priest concludes the prayers:
Heavenly Father, hear the prayers of your people. In your gracious mercy, give rich blessings to all who assist those in need, and out of the same love with which you created us, grant all our petitions, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
