Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)


Priest:
We trust and hope in the goodness of the Lord, and we bring to Him our needs, and the needs of the Church.

Reader: 

We pray for Pope Francis, for Archbishop Bernard and his assistant bishops; may they be renewed in their apostolic calling to bear witness to the Faith of the Church. Lord, hear us.

We pray for ourselves: May we have the courage of Bartimaeus to pursue those of our ambitions and desires which are founded in true faith. Lord Hear us

As the dark nights are now upon us; we pray for God’s comfort, his protection and his guiding light. Lord Hear us

We pray for those who are sick or housebound: may they be comforted by the assurance of our continuing prayers for them. Lord Hear us

We pray for those who have died (especially N). May they know the peace of the heavenly kingdom in the company of the angels and saints. Lord Hear us

Let us ask Our Lady to bring our prayers before the presence of the Father: Hail Mary ...

We make our own petitions in silence.

God our loving Father, we pray that you will accept these prayers in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Priest:
Gathered in the name of Christ, nourished by the word of God and inspired by the Holy Spirit, let us pray for the Church and for the world.

Reader:
For the mission of the Church:
that we may all be faithful to sharing the Good News of God’s unconditional love for all people.
Lord, hear us.

For all who have positions of authority or responsibility:
That they may serve those they rule, and never exploit those over whom they have power. Lord, hear us.

For missionaries:
that the Lord will send workers into his harvest and bring the world to the knowledge and love of God.
Lord, hear us.

For those suffering rejection, persecution, and marginalisation:
that the joy of the Gospel may fill their hearts and minds with hope. Lord, hear us.

For the sick, the bereaved and those departed this life:
that they may know the mercy of God in this life and the next.
Lord, hear us.

Let us commend ourselves and all God’s people living and dead to the intercession of Our Blessed Lady as we say Hail Mary.

Let us now pray for a moment in silence.

Twenty-Eighth Sunday (B)
Go and sell everything you own and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. (Mark 10:21-22)

Let us turn as children to God our Father and present our prayers and needs to him with confidence.
Reader:
For our Holy Father Pope Francis:
that he may ever more effectively lead the faithful through the door of Faith to the treasures of heaven.
Lord, hear us. .

For all Christians who are persecuted for their faith:
that the Lord will continue to give them hope and courage to hold fast to what is true.
Lord, hear us.

For all affected by conflict and political instability, including those separated from their families:
that governments and agencies may assist them, that they may be treated with dignity, care and compassion.
Lord, hear us. .

For ourselves:
that God will give us the grace to respond to his invitation to care for the poor and weak, the dying, the forgotten, and the unborn.
Lord, hear us.

For those who have died this week; may they and all the faithful departed experience the grace and mercy of Jesus and enter into eternal life with him.
Lord, hear us.  

Now let us ask Our Lady Queen of the Holy Rosary to join her to ours as we say together, Hail Mary..

Confident of our covenant with God and our unity with our brothers and sisters, we present these prayers before God's throne.


Reader:
For the family of the church. May we lead the way in demonstrating the care, compassion and inclusive forgiveness that lies at the heart of family life,
Lord, hear us.

For the work of CAFOD, the Food Bank, and all agencies who help those in acute need
that together we may strive for a fairer world,
bringing bread to those who are hungry and hope to those who are oppressed.
Lord, hear us.

For all married people. May couples be sensitive to each other's needs, that they may grow daily more in love for each other.
Lord, hear us.

For all children. May children grow up in a loving families, and may families be found for the children waiting to be adopted.
Lord, hear us.

For all those affected by conflict and political instability, including those separated from their families. May they be treated with dignity, care and compassion, acknowledging that all humanity is one family in God.
Lord, hear us.

Let us turn to Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Rosary and pray, Hail Mary…

God of love, draw us always to You,
so that we may imitate your love and compassionate care for those in need.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
