Priest:

Lord God, our light and our salvation, we praise you for your gifts of life and faith, and in prayer we bring you our needs.

For Benedict, our Pope: May the Lord protect him and grant him length of days. May the Lord be his shield and deliver him from all harm. Lord, in your mercy...

For our diocesan family; for Archbishop Bernard and his assistant Bishops, for all priests, deacons, religious, and lay men and women. May we draw ever closer to Christ and let our faith show in all we do and say. Lord, in your mercy...

For ourselves that, through prayer, fasting and almsgiving, this Lent may be an opportunity to move away from selfishness and pride to a deepening love of God and neighbour. Lord, in your mercy...

For the needy and hungry of the world and for the development and relief work of CAFOD. May this Friday's Fast Day serve to remind us of the call to live more simply and put our faith into action. Lord, in your mercy...

For all those who have died, and for those whose anniversaries occur at this time: may the Lord give them a place at his banquet in heaven. Lord in your mercy...

May Mary, who was ever attentive to God's word. join her prayers to ours as we pray Hail Mary...

Let us now pray for a moment in silence

Priest:
Father, you sent your Son to bring healing to the world. Help us to recognise our needs and the needs of others. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

For all married people; May they all grow sensitive to each other's needs, and grow daily more in love for each other. For those who experience difficulties in their married life and for those whose marriages have ended. May they be given strength by the guidance of the Holy Spirit in their special circumstances.
Lord in your mercy

We pray for the sick, the elderly and housebound, and those in any sort of distress, may they know the healing power of God’s love.
Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for those who have died; may they all share in the glory of the risen Lord and may all of us be together one day in the community of the saved.
Lord in your mercy

Together we ask for the intercession of Our Blessed Lady as we say. Hail Mary...
