29th Sunday of the Year (B)Anyone who wants to become great among you must be your servant (Mark 10:43)
Priest:
Gathered in the name of Christ, nourished by the word of God and inspired by the Holy Spirit, let us pray for the Church and for the world.
Reader:
For the mission of the Church:
that we may all be faithful to sharing the Good News of God’s unconditional love for all people.
Lord, hear us.
For all who have positions of authority or responsibility:
That they may serve those they rule, and never exploit those over whom they have power. Lord, hear us.
For missionaries:
that the Lord will send workers into his harvest and bring the world to the knowledge and love of God.
Lord, hear us.
For those suffering rejection, persecution, and marginalisation:
that the joy of the Gospel may fill their hearts and minds with hope. Lord, hear us.
For the sick, the bereaved and those departed this life:
that they may know the mercy of God in this life and the next.
Lord, hear us.
Let us commend ourselves and all God’s people living and dead to the intercession of Our Blessed Lady as we say Hail Mary.
Let us now pray for a moment in silence.
Priest:
God our Father, may your love be upon us, as we place all our hope in you, through Christ our Lord. Amen
