6th Sunday in Ordinary Time: The Universal Prayer / Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)

Priest:
On this world day of prayer for the sick, we turn to the Lord and ask that his healing touch may be felt throughout the Church and the world.

Reader:
For Pope Francis; clergy and religious; and for the whole Church.  May we work together in our calling to be faithful witnesses, and so draw all we meet to experience the Good News of the Lord.
Lord, hear us..

When Christ cured the leper he asked him to show himself to the priest. We pray that in our search for healing we may be ready to offer our thanksgiving to God.
Lord, hear us..

For the unemployed, those threatened with redundancy, the homeless, the lonely and those struggling to feed themselves or their families. May we reach out to them and help them with the Lord’s compassion, so that they may see a way forward in their lives.
Lord, hear us..

May the Lord grant eternal rest to all who have died,
those who are known to us and those who have no-one to pray for them.
Lord, hear us..

Let us now join our prayers with the prayers of Our Lady of Lourdes, as we say together. Hail Mary…

In the silence of our hearts we make our private petitions known to God.

Priest:
Accept our prayers of humble petition
as we place our trust in you
and grant that what we ask in faith we may surely obtain,
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
