First Sunday of Lent
Priest:
As we begin the season of Lent let us bring our needs and the needs of the world in prayer to God, the Almighty Father.
Reader:
For Pope Francis and all bishops, priests and religious: may they be strengthened with God’s grace to lead us in the ways of holiness, repentance and prayer.
Lord, hear us.
For ourselves: that we may persevere with our Lenten resolutions, enrich our spiritual lives, and prepare carefully for Easter
Lord, hear us.
For those peoples hit by violence and ethnic and religious divisions,
that every nation may strive to support every initiative in the pursuit of peace.
Lord, hear us.
For the sick and those who care for them,
that they may trust in God's loving mercy, and turn again to God, who alone has the power to heal and save.
Lord, hear us.
For those of our community who have left this world, and for all the holy souls:
may the Lord be merciful to them and give them everlasting happiness.
Lord, hear us.
Let us ask Our Lady to help us as we pray Hail Mary
Reader:
In silent prayer we bring our own needs and intentions to our heavenly Father.
Priest:
We ask you Almighty God to hear and answer all our prayers
which we make in the name of Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.
