8th Sunday in Ordinary Time : The Universal Prayer / Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

A man’s words flow out of what fills his heart. (Luke 6:45)

The Priest says:
My brothers and sisters, let us join together to pray for the needs of all humanity, our Church, and ourselves, trusting in God’s merciful love.

Reader:
For all Christian leaders
That God will guide them to speak from the heart and be true to their word.
Lord, hear us.

For those who are lost and aimless in life
That they may find purpose in faith, and quickly embrace the challenge of the gospel of Christ.
Lord, hear us.

For those in need and all who care for them
That they may trust in God's loving kindness,
Lord, hear us.

For those who have departed this life;
That they may come to share in the glory of heaven,
Lord, hear us.

Let us join our prayers with the prayers of Our Lady: Hail Mary.

In a moment of silence let us make our petitions to the Lord.

The priest concludes the prayers:
Heavenly Father, hear the prayers of your people and grant our petitions out of the same love with which you created us. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
