Easter Three
“A ghost has no flesh and bones as you can see I have”
The Priest introduces the prayers:
Often when we walk along the road we are like the disciples, alarmed, afraid, agitated and doubtful. Yet in this Easter celebration Christ walks with us, sits amongst us, and offers us himself as food for the journey. Let us now place all our hope in him.
Reader:
We pray for the Church,
that all who preach the word of God
may be bright with the living Spirit of Jesus,
and that those who hear them may listen, understand and encounter Christ.
Lord, hear us.
We pray for the peoples of the world,
that the resurrection of Our Lord may be for them a sign of hope,
not of conflict, and that peace and justice may prevail everywhere.
Lord, hear us.
We pray for those in need
for the elderly and infirm, who are having to accept a loss of their independence;
for all with mental or physical disabilities which cause isolation or rejection;
and for all who are blind to the needs around them;
that Christ may be their hope and comfort.
Lord, hear us.
We pray for the sick and those who care for them;
that we may see what Christ would have us do in our lives.
Lord, hear us.
We join our prayers with those of our blessed Lady. Hail Mary
Let us pray in silence to our heavenly Father.
The Priest concludes the prayers:
Almighty God, when we are troubled and doubts are rising in our hearts, may your risen Son touch us with his love, and fill us with Easter joy. We make all our prayers in his holy name . Amen.
