Divine Mercy Sunday (Easter 2)
Priest:
Let us turn to the mercy of God, laying before him our petitions, the needs of the Church, and the aspirations of all mankind.
Reader:
We pray for our Bishops,
that through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit
they will bear witness to the mercy of God and the joy of the Resurrection.
Lord, hear us.
We pray for unbelievers and doubters,
that they may come to faith, and trust in the loving mercy of God.
Lord, hear us.
We pray for politicians worldwide, that they may filled with a hearing for peace
which is the gift of the Risen Christ.
Lord, hear us.
We pray for the faithful departed. May God grant eternal rest to all who have died especially those who have no-one else to pray for them.
Lord, hear us.
Let us ask Our Lady to join her prayers to ours as we say - Hail Mary
In silence let us bring our own petitions to God.
Priest:
Almighty God, at his resurrection your son said his apostles,
Peace I leave you, my peace I give you,
In our great mercy look upon our faith,
and graciously grant our prayers
in accordance with your will.
For you live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.
