24th Sunday of the Year : The Universal Prayer / Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

24th Sunday of the Year

Priest:

We stand in faith before the Father and bring our petitions with trust in God's goodness and love.

Reader:

Let us pray for our Holy Father Pope Francis and all who hold positions of authority within the Church: may they blend gentleness with strength in a spirit of compassion towards others.
Lord hear us.

Let us pray for the graces we need to be forgiving and merciful,

May we seek peace and reconciliation, and never be consumed by the false justice of revenge. Lord hear us.

Let us commend to the love of Almighty God, the victims of terrorism, especially those affected by recent attacks.  May God to grant them the strength and courage they need at this time of sorrow and trial. Lord hear us.

May God the Almighty Father give a place of life and rest to those who have died: may we share with them in the glory of Jesus Christ, who died to save us all.

Lord hear us

Let us commend ourselves and all God’s people, both living and dead, to the intercession of our Blessed Lady as we say together,  Hail Mary …

In a moment of silence let us pray for all those who have asked for our prayers.

Priest:

Father, your love for us surpasses our understanding.  Your mercy exceeds what we would not dare to expect.  Help us to be mindful of our heavenly home in all we plan and do. May your unfailing love for us stimulate compel us to seek reconciliation and mercy.   We ask this through Christ our Lord.
