Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time (A)
“Where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them”
Priest:
The Lord tells us that “where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them”. Let us come before him with confidence as we pray to him for our needs and the needs of the world.
Reader:
For our clergy and those devoted to the religious life:
Let us pray for all our priests, deacons, nuns and brothers that they may be given the grace to continue their ministry refreshed and with renewed hope.
Lord, hear us.
For children and teachers at the commencement of the school year:
May the Lord guide and bless them, that they may grow in faith and love.
Lord, hear us.
For all those suffering because of the extreme weather conditions caused by hurricanes Harvey and Irma: may they strong in the face of adversity, and may they are assisted with compassion and generosity.
(pause) Lord, hear us.
For all who suffer in body, mind or spirit:
may they be cared for with gentleness and patience.
Lord, hear us.
For all those who have departed this life, remembering especially Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor,
May they be granted eternal rest and the joys of the kingdom.
Lord, hear us.
Let us ask Mary, Mother of us all, to pray for us as we say: Hail Mary ….
Let us pray silently for our own intentions.
Priest:
Loving Father, hear these prayers and the prayers of all our hearts. In your mercy, grant that what we ask in faith, we may obtain from your love, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
