Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

We come together now to reaffirm the belief in our God who is near to the broken-hearted and helps those whose spirit is crushed.

For the Church in the world: that it may preach the message of Christ to this generation and give witness to the truth by its dedication to peace and justice.
Lord in your mercy.

For the many people whose countries are being torn apart by war or rebellion that you will guide their leaders to find peaceful and just conclusions to the conflicts.
Lord in your mercy

Bring those who are lonely or in despair to see your light, and to revive their hope in you.
Lord in your mercy.

For the members of our families, our relatives, friends and those in our community who have died: may they have the eternal life promised by Christ.
Lord in your mercy.

We turn to Mary, Mother of Good Counsel, and ask her to assist us in our prayers as we say together Hail Mary

In the silence of our hearts, let us offer to the Lord our own personal intentions.

God our Father, you gave us your only Son to redeem us from sin. Help us to accept and follow his message of eternal life.
