22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:
We turn to God our loving father and ask him for all our needs

 

Reader:

We pray for Benedict our Pope, our Bishops and our diocesan priests and deacons, especially Fr. Peter and Deacon Tony. May they inspire us by their word and example.
Lord in your mercy,

We pray for all those who travel by land, sea or air that they will come safely to their destination.
Lord in your mercy,

We pray for farmers and all who work on the land at this time of harvest.
Lord in your mercy,

As the schools return this week we pray for all teachers, assistants, governors, parents and pupils, especially for those feeling a little bit uncertain or anxious.
Lord in your mercy.

We pray for those who rest in Christ and for all the dead whose faith is known to God alone. May they rest in peace.
Lord in your mercy

We turn to Mary and ask her to join her prayers with ours as we say. Hail Mary…

Father of love in whom there is no variation or shadow, hear the prayers we offer this day and inspire us to be doers of the word, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:

We come together now to reaffirm the belief in our God who is near to the broken-hearted and helps those whose spirit is crushed.

Reader:

For the Church in the world: that it may preach the message of Christ to this generation and give witness to the truth by its dedication to peace and justice.
Lord in your mercy.

For the many people whose countries are being torn apart by war or rebellion that you will guide their leaders to find peaceful and just conclusions to the conflicts.
Lord in your mercy

Bring those who are lonely or in despair to see your light, and to revive their hope in you.
Lord in your mercy.

For the members of our families, our relatives, friends and those in our community who have died: may they have the eternal life promised by Christ.
Lord in your mercy.

We turn to Mary, Mother of Good Counsel, and ask her to assist us in our prayers as we say together Hail Mary

In the silence of our hearts, let us offer to the Lord our own personal intentions.

God our Father, you gave us your only Son to redeem us from sin. Help us to accept and follow his message of eternal life.

With faith and hope we bring our petitions to you Lord so that we may be guided by you to live our lives according to your teachings

May the Lord transform by the power of his sacrament all those who receive it, and especially those who administer it, the Pope, the bishops, the clergy and extraordinary ministers.

Lord in your mercy

We pray that God will give strength and hope to those suffering from the financial turmoil in Europe. May he guide governments in the hard decisions they have to make and keep them ever mindful of the poor and vulnerable in their societies.

Lord in your mercy

We pray for all those who struggle with their faith that they may persevere through the dark times, with the help of God’s love and understanding.

Lord in your mercy

May the Lord strengthen by his body and blood all those who are sick, especially those whose sickness is prolonged or near death.

Lord in your mercy

We ask our Mother Mary who was assumed sinless into heaven, to assist us in our prayers as we say Hail Mary

Lord Jesus Christ, you have given us your flesh to eat and your blood to drink. May we learn to put all our trust in you. Through you who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.  Amen.

We turn now in prayer to God our Father who is the one who has drawn us here to celebrate his gift of life.

Reader

For the needs of the whole Church.
May the Lord assist the Church under the leadership of Pope Benedict to be an active and effective sign of his life in the world.
Lord hear us.

We pray for the discouraged.
May the Lord give new hope and strength to those who are suffering from disappointments, and the effects of failure.
Lord hear us.

At this time of exam results we pray for our young people.
May the Lord grant them the fullness of life that he offers to all who follow him.
Lord hear us.

For those who have died.
May the Lord greet them with love and mercy and grant them the happiness of the kingdom.
Lord hear us.

Now let us ask Mary the Mother of God and the Mother of the Church to join her prayers to ours as we say: Hail Mary…

Father in heaven, you continue to draw us to yourself and claim us as your own by the gift of the Spirit. We ask that you guide and sustain us on our journey, as we strive to walk in the way of Jesus, your Son. We make this prayer in his holy name. Amen.

18th Sunday : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest: Having been invited to come to Jesus, our bread of life, let us now confidently place our needs before the Father.

Reader:

Let us pray for all the priests of our diocese; strengthen them in the spirit to carry out your work.
Lord in your mercy

May we be continually challenged by each other to 'put off' our old, selfish ways and follow more closely the way of Christ,
Lord in your mercy

May all who face persecution because of their faith in Jesus Christ might be comforted by our support in prayer and in action,
Lord in your mercy

For the sick, especially the sick members of our family and community, and for those who have died, especially those who died without hope or in pain,
Lord in your mercy

Let us commend ourselves and all Gods people living and dead to the intercession of our Blessed Lady as we say, Hail Mary...

Heavenly Father, we place all our hope in your power to answer our needs voiced in faith and in the name of your Son. We ask you, then, to grant our requests through this same Jesus Christ, our Lord.
