4th Sunday in Ordinary Time (C): The Universal Prayer / Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time (C)

Priest:
We turn to the Lord, whose love is never ending, and ask him for all we need.
Reader:
For the Church, the Pope, all our bishops, priests and deacons that they may confidently proclaim the Word of God and be firm in their adherence to Christ's message of love especially to the poor, weak or oppressed
Lord, hear us.

For those trapped in slavery and in forced labour, that their dignity as human beings may be respected, their perpetrators be brought to justice
Lord, hear us.

For all married people.
May they be sensitive to each other's needs, and daily grow more in love with each other.
Lord, hear us.

For the sick, elderly and housebound, and those in any sort of distress.
May they know the healing power of God’s love.
Lord, hear us.

For all those in our parish or families who have died,
May they happily dwell with Christ in their eternal rest.
Lord, hear us.

Together we ask for the intercession of Our Blessed Lady as we say. Hail Mary ...

Now we pray for a while in silence for our personal needs.
Priest:
Heavenly Father, confident in your never-ending love, we offer you all our prayers through Jesus, your Son, who lives and reigns with you, for ever and ever. Amen
