28th Sunday of the Year : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:

Let us turn to God our guide for all our needs.

Reader:

For our Holy Father Pope Benedict that he may lead the faithful through the Doorway of Faith to the true treasures of heaven.
Lord in your mercy

Wisdom is the first and highest gift of the Holy Spirit, because it is the perfection of faith. Help us to appreciate these gifts of wisdom and faith and so deepen our relationship with God and strengthen our commitment to sharing that faith with others.
Lord in your mercy

For wisdom, in our work, whether it be in the workplace, the community or at home. Let us be cheerful and open, embracing it as an opportunity to experience your gifts and interacting joyfully with others, so we may enjoy true success in the work of our hands.
Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for the wisdom to value the gifts we have, but also pray for those whose material needs prevent them from accessing your saving love.
Lord in your mercy

For those who have died. May all the faithful departed experience the grace and mercy of Jesus and enter into eternal life with him.
Lord in your mercy

Let us turn to Our Lady, the seat of Wisdom, to support our prayers as we say, Hail Mary…

Let us pray for our own intentions in silence.

Priest:

God our loving Father, we pray that you will accept these prayers and so help us to find in your Holy word the source of truth and wisdom through Christ our Lord. Amen.
