Bidding Prayers / Intercessions for the Eighth Sunday of the Year

Eighth Sunday of the Year

The Priest says:
My brothers and sisters, let us join together to pray for the needs of our Church, our country and ourselves, forgetting not the many wants of all mankind.

Reader:
That God will guide all Christian leaders in the fulfilment of the obligations of their office.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

That those engulfed in a poverty of the Spirit,
because they have not yet received the faith,
may quickly hear the challenge of the gospel of Christ.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

That those in need
and those who care for them may trust in God's loving kindness,
let us pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

That those who have departed this life may come to share in the glory of heaven,
let us pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us join our prayers with the prayers of Our Lady: Hail Mary...

We make our private petitions in silence.

The priest concludes the prayers:
Heavenly Father, hear the prayers of your people and grant our petitions out of the same love with which you created us. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
