Easter Six
The Priest introduces the prayers:
Brothers and sisters in Christ, Christ commands us to show our love for him and for the Father by loving one another. By our love the power of Christ's resurrection is made known to the world. Let us now show our love in our prayers for the Church and for the world
Reader:
We pray for the leaders of the Church,
may all the bishops be open to the promptings of the Spirit, and through him grow in the fullness of wisdom and truth and love.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
We pray for the peoples of the world,
that the whole world may rejoice in the gift of love, and that hatred and bloodshed may come to an end.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
We pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit;
and for those who care for them:
that God will keep faith with them in their discomfort, and show them his love. Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
We pray with Mary, Queen of heaven. Hail Mary .
Let us pray in silence to God.
The Priest concludes the prayers:
Father, you have not left us orphans but sent us the Holy Spirit in whose power we make our prayer to you. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
