Easter Four
The Priest introduces the prayers:
The Lord is our Shepherd: there is nothing we shall want if we turn to him and ask in prayer. Let us now ask the Lord for all our needs, and for the needs of the Church and of the world.
Reader:
Let us pray for the Church which has Christ for its shepherd,
that all may hear his voice when he calls and follow his way of truth and love.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
Let us pray for all who are lost and unlooked for
that the Lord will show again compassion on those who have wandered from him, and empower us to lead others to his presence.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
Let us pray for vocations to the priesthood and the religious life:
that the people of God will be fed with his word, the broken-hearted tended by his healing hand, and all those who are weak receive strength and comfort through the sacraments.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
We pray for those who have departed this life, that Christ the Good Shepherd may welcome them into his eternal fold:
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
We join our prayers to the prayers of Mary. Hail Mary .
Let us pray in silence for all our needs and the needs of others.
The Priest concludes the prayers:
Almighty God, we bless you for giving your Son to be the shepherd of your people. Grant that we who are strengthened by his risen presence may follow him in our daily life. This we ask through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.
