31st Sunday in Ordinary Time : The Universal Prayer / Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Thirty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)
Love the Lord your God with all your heart (Mark 12:30)

Priest:
Let us turn now to God in prayer and ask for all our needs.

Reader:
For Pope N., the bishops of our diocese, and for all who exercise authority and ministry in the Church, that they may remain vigilant and watchful, preparing the Church for the day of the Lord’s return. Lord, hear us.

We pray that our hearts are set on fire with love for Christ, that in its flame, we may love him with all our hearts, all our minds and with all our strength, and by keeping his commandments we may glorify God, the giver of all good gifts. Lord, hear us.

Let us commend to God’s fatherly goodness all who are anxious or distressed in mind or body; and those who care for them, (especially ….) May he comfort and relieve them according to their needs, give them patience in their sufferings, and bring good out of their troubles. Lord, hear us.

For the sick and retired priests of our diocese and for the work of the Johnson Association and for Aston Hall in Stone. May the Lord bless all those care for those who have served him through busy lives.
Lord, hear us.

We pray especially in this month of November, for all the holy souls who have died in the peace of Christ:
May the loving Father give them a place of light and rest, that we may share with them in the glory of Jesus Christ, who died to save us all. Lord, hear us.

Let us turn to Our Lady, Queen of Heaven to intercede for us as we pray Hail Mary.

Priest:
God our loving Father, we ask you to listen to all our prayers, for we make them in faith and in the name of Jesus your Son, who is Lord for ever and ever. Amen
