First Sunday of Lent: Intercessions / Bidding Prayers / Prayer of the Faithful

 

Priest:

As we begin the season of Lent let us bring our needs and the needs of the world to Almighty God in prayer.

 

Reader:

We give thanks to God the Father for this time of grace. Let us ask him to cleanse our hearts and strengthen us in love through the Holy Spirit living within us

Lord, hear us.

 

We pray for all who proclaim the word of God, that they may be filled with wisdom and compassion and may preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth. We pray especially for missionaries, priests, nuns and zealous lay workers in the missions.

Lord, hear us.

 

That those, especially those in our midst, who are crushed by economic problems, poor health, fears and anxieties, loneliness and pain.  May they draw special hope from what God has promised.

Lord, hear us.

 

Be merciful Lord to all those of our community who have left this world, we pray especially for all our family and friends who have died, may they be given everlasting happiness.

Lord, hear us.

 

Let us ask Our Lady to help us as we pray Hail Mary.

 

In silent prayer we bring our own needs and intentions to our heavenly Father.

We ask you Almighty God to hear and answer all our prayers which we make in the name of Jesus Christ your son our Lord.

In a spirit of contrition we bring our needs to our heavenly Father.

Lord, we pray for our Holy Father, Pope Benedict, and for all the bishops and priests of your Church that they may exercise the ministry of reconciliation with compassion and understanding.
Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for all who are adversely affected by the downturn in the world's economy, particularly those who are unemployed. May they be patient and persevere as they strive to support those for whom they are responsible.
Lord in your mercy

We thank you for the gift of your love and mercy that overlooks our weaknesses, our failures, and our many sins. Strengthen us always, and open our hearts to the mystery of life and of your infinite love for us.
Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for all those who are sick, for those of our families, and for those who have asked for our prayers, that the Lord may guide them and strengthen them through their illness.  We pray also for those who care for the sick, those engaged in the caring professions and for family members who look after loved ones and especially for children who care for parents. 
Lord in your mercy

Lord, we pray for our dead who have received your healing sacrament in this life, May you greet them with love and mercy and grant them the happiness of your kingdom.

Let us join our prayers with those of our mother Mary as we say..In the silence of our hearts we make our private petitions known to God.

PRIEST:

Merciful Father, we ask you to answer all our prayers because we make them in faith, through Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

6th Sunday of the Year : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B

PRIEST:

Rejoice, rejoice in the Lord. With confidence we turn to our Father and place our petitions before Him.

READER:

Let us pray for our Holy Father Pope Benedict, for Our Bishop, and all priests, deacons and people of the diocese; through our faith, may we all come closer to the Lord in prayer, in hope and in joy.  
Lord in your mercy

St. Paul points the way to true happiness when he writes 'try to be helpful to everyone at all times, not seeking our own advantage but the advantage of everybody else' We pray that we may become as Christ is 'a man for others'.
Lord in your mercy

When Christ cured the Leper He asked him to show himself to the priest. We pray that we may take advantage of the great privilege we have as Catholics of seeking forgiveness in the sacrament of reconciliation.
Lord in your mercy

We pray for all married couples, may they share their lives together in mutual love and respect for each other and that the bonds of their vows in Matrimony may continue to grow ever stronger.
Lord, in your mercy.

We pray also for those who are encountering difficulties in their relationships; may they rediscover the beauty and wonder of each other, that their love may grow ever stronger. Lord in your mercy

Let us now join our prayers with the prayers of Mary, our Mother as we say together. Hail Mary…
