Eighteenth Sunday of the Year
The Priest says:
Our Lord tells us that those who come to him will never be hungry, those who believe in him will never thirst. We come before the Father now in prayer, confident that he will feed our hunger and quench our thirsts.
Reader:
We pray for the all priests in this year of priests,
especially this week: Fr Jacob Choi, Fr Dominic Chukka, Fr Eddie Clare, Fr Eamon Clarke, Fr Phillip Cleevely, Fr Stephen Cockrane, Fr Kenneth Collins, and Fr David Condron; may the Lord keep them close to his heart, and bless them abundantly in time and in eternity.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
We pray for those in authority,
that the rulers of all countries may seek the paths to peace.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
We pray for those who are in need and for those who care for them,
that they may know the comforting support of the Mother of God.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
We pray for those who have died,
that they may find eternal salvation.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
We pray with Mary, Mother of God. Hail Mary .
In a moment of silence, let us make our private prayers to God.
The priest concludes the prayers:
Almighty Father, may your people redeemed by Christ and made holy by the Spirit, work not for the food which does not last, but the food that endures to eternal life. We make this prayer in his holy name.
Amen.
