Tenth Sunday of the Year A

Tenth Sunday of the Year

The Priest says:
Jesus is the shepherd of our souls. He sustains us against the perils of the world, the flesh and the devil, if we only turn to him for help. Let us ask the Father that he will give us not only the grace of sorrow, but also confidence in his forgiveness.

Reader:
Let us pray for the Catholic Church in all the world,
that the Holy Spirit will guide and inspire the leaders of the Church,
and render all her enemies powerless. Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us pray for peace and justice in the world,
that civil officials may not oppose the will of God, and that the people of our land may choose leaders who will guide us in the path of righteousness.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us pray for the sick and those who care for them,
that those who feel God is distant from them may realise that he alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us pray for those departed this life,
that those who have left this life in faith and fear
may find eternal happiness in heaven.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Now let us pray with Mary, Mother of all Christians: Hail Mary...

We make our own prayers in moment of silence.

The priest concludes the prayers:
O God, the creator of life and author of every good thing, be merciful to those who transgress your laws, enlighten their minds to the error of their ways, and give them the humility to acknowledge their fault. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
