Intercessions / Bidding Prayers for the Feast of The Holy Family

Feast of The Holy Family
Sunday after Christmas

The Priest introduces the prayers:
My brothers and sisters in Christ, let us come to God our Father with our burdens and cares.

Reader:
Let us ask God to bless our Christian family,
both in this parish and throughout the world; that we may witness to his life-giving presence by the kind of lives we lead, and the work which we do.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us ask God to bless all children at risk;
all at risk from parents or relatives; all those born prematurely; all who are handicapped, and for their families, that they may not be like sheep without a shepherd, but may be cared and tended by God in the way of love.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us ask God to bless the sick and those who care for them,
that where much is demanded, much strength may be given.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us pray for those departed this life,
that all families may be reunited in the glory of God's kingdom.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us unite our prayers with the Mother of the Lord. Hail Mary .

As members of Christ's family, let us now make our own prayers in silence.

The Priest concludes the prayers:
Father, we celebrate the birth of your son who shared our human family with Mary and Joseph, May we be one with them in peace, harmony and love. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
