3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
“He sent me to bring the good news to the poor” (Luke 4:18)
Priest:
Our Lord Jesus proclaims that he came to bring the Good News to the poor. Confident, now, in his infinite goodness, let ask the Lord for his mercy.:
Reader:
For the Pope, clergy and all who teach the Word of God
that they will be supported and respected in their work of instructing the faithful.
Lord, hear us.
For those in our parish who most need to experience Christ's healing power
by our encouragement and example, may they seek his mercy in the sacraments.
Lord, hear us.
On Holocaust Memorial Day, we ask God to enable us to defend those who are not strong enough to defend themselves, that we may bring the light of his truth into the dark areas of human life. Lord, here us.
For our divided nation and our fractured world,
May people and politicians be able to respect different points of view and come together to seek out the common ground.
Lord, hear us.
For all those who have died, may the Lord give them a place at his banquet in heaven.
Lord, hear us.
Let us join our prayers with those of Mary as we say Hail Mary
Let us now pray for a moment in silence.
Priest:
God, Father of the poor,
we thank you for all you have given us.
Enable us, by your Holy Spirit,
to be generous with others as you are generous with us.
We make our prayers through Christ our Lord.
