Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time (B) : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)

Priest:

We turn to God in prayer for the needs of the Church and the world.

Reader:

For all nations: that they may seek the way that leads to peace, that human rights and freedom may be everywhere respected, and that the world's resources may be generously shared.

Lord, hear us.

For all those fleeing from the war in Syria: that the international community will seek to help all in need

Lord, hear us.

At the start of the new term in our seminaries we pray for those who may be called to enter the Priesthood, Permanent Diaconate or Consecrated life, and for each one of us here whatever our vocation. May we have the courage and generosity to answer God’s call.

Lord, hear us.

For our friends and relations who are sick. May God’s healing grace help them in their afflictions.

Lord, hear us.

For all those who have died. May they rest in the peace of Christ.

Lord, hear us.

Let us ask Blessed Mary to pray for us: Hail Mary ...

Let us now bring our own needs and requests to the Lord in a time of silent prayer.

Priest:

God, our loving Father, we ask you to listen to all our prayers because we make them in faith and in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who is Lord for ever and ever. Amen

For ourselves: that God may grant us the grace to lead better lives, following more closely the teaching of Jesus, by coming to the assistance of the needy and the outcast
Lord, hear us.

For those who have died - our friends, our relatives,  and those whose anniversaries occur at this time:
that all may come to dwell in the everlasting light of God’s love.

We turn to Mary, Mother of Good Counsel, and ask her to assist us in our prayers as we say: Hail Mary

In the silence of our hearts, let us offer to the Lord our own personal intentions.

God our Father,

you gave us your only Son to redeem us from sin.

Help us to accept and follow his message of eternal life.

Amen.

With trust in the Lord who calls us all to follow Him we present all our prayers to Him, confident in His unceasing mercy.

May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, guide and support all bishops, priests and deacons with her maternal love.

For the sick, the poor and the lonely:
May find the assurance of God’s presence in the love of his people.
Lord, hear us.

For the faithful departed:
May they come to dwell with Our Lady in the presence of the risen Lord.

Let us now turn to Mary, who was assumed sinless into heaven, and seek her intercession as we say:
 Hail Mary …

In the silence of our hearts we bring all our needs to the presence of God our merciful Father.

Loving Father, who raised up the Blessed Virgin Mary into your Heavenly Kingdom, accept our prayers which we make with faith, and bring us into your holy embrace through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

19th Sunday in Ordinary Time (B) : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

19th Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)

Priest:
We turn to God in prayer for the needs of the Church and the world.

Reader:
For all those in authority in the Church. May our prayers support them as they continue to support us.

Lord, hear us.

For an end to the humanitarian crisis forcing thousands of people to flee persecution and danger in North Africa and the Middle East, and seek safety in Europe: that Governments may work together to protect the safety of the migrants, on land and sea; to share the burden of caring for them and welcoming them; and in helping businesses and travellers, whose lives are disturbed and disrupted by this crisis.

Lord, hear us.

For those who face persecution because of their faith in Jesus Christ: that they might be comforted by our support in prayer and in action.

Lord, hear us.

For those currently on holiday. May they travel safely and return refreshed in mind and body.

Lord, hear us.

For all awaiting for examination results. May they find ways to achieve their hopes and ambitions for the future.
Lord, hear us.

Mary the Mother of Christ is our mother also. We ask her to join her prayers with ours as we say: Hail Mary …

Let us now pray for a moment in silence.

Priest:
God, our loving Father, we ask you to listen to all our prayers because we make them in faith and in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who is Lord for ever and ever. Amen
