Priest: 
Christ is an inspiration; it is in Him that we come together to make our prayer to God the Father of us all.

Reader: 


We pray for the Pope, bishops and clergy that they may seek integrity and be true to their calling (pause) Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for our world leaders. May they have the gifts of wisdom and discernment and learn to think in God’s way and not man’s in the decisions they make on our behalf. (pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray for our brothers and sisters who are suffering for their belief in Christ, that they may remain steadfast in their conviction 
 (pause) Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, may they be cared for with, gentleness and patience (pause) Lord in your mercy

For all those who have died. May the Lord grant them and all the faithful departed the full growth of the life he puts within them, and that with him they have found the way to the resurrection. 
(pause) Lord in your mercy

We now turn to Our Lady, Queen of Peace, and seek her intercession as we say - Hail Mary.

In the silence of our hearts we pray for own particular needs.

Almighty Father, teach us to serve you faithfully in all that we do, through the example of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time: Bidding Prayers / Prayers of the Faithful / Intercessions

Priest:

Like St. Peter, let us profess our faith in Jesus as we present all our prayers to God, our almighty Father.

Reader:

We pray that Pope Benedict, the successor to St. Peter, continues to lead the church with integrity, wisdom and understanding 
(pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray that the church always remains a rock against which all evil flounders
(pause) Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for our political leaders, that they place the needs and rights of the poor and marginalized before those more able to enjoy the material gifts so abundant in our society
(pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray for parents, teachers and all those working with the young, that with their love, patience, forgiveness and understanding they help them grow into responsible citizens
(pause) Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for our parish community that we may recognise Christ not only as our Saviour but also as a true friend who loves and cares for us  (pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray for those who have died, may they find joy and peace in God’s eternal kingdom
(pause) Lord in your mercy

Let us now turn to Mary, Help of Christians, and seek her intercession as we say  - Hail Mary

In silence let us offer our own prayers to the Lord.

Loving Father, accept these our prayers that we make in faith,
through your son our Lord Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit

The Assumption of Our Lady: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayers of the Faithful


PRIEST: With trust in the Lord who calls us all to follow Him we present all our prayers to Him confident in His unceasing mercy.

 

READER:

We pray that the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, will guide and support all bishops, priests and deacons with her maternal love.  (pause) Lord in your mercy,

Let us pray for all the young people making the pilgrimage to World Youth Day in Madrid, especially the young people of the or diocese that through service and prayer they will bring the spirit of the church in the United Kingdom to the world. (pause) Lord in your mercy,

At this time of exam results we pray for our young people. Lord, grant them the vision of the fullness of life that you offer them through the following of your Son. (pause) Lord in your mercy,

Let us pray that the sick, the poor and the lonely may find the assurance of your presence in the love of us your people. (pause) Lord in your mercy,

Let us now turn to Mary, who was assumed sinless into heaven, and seek her intercession as we say …. Hail Mary ….

In the silence of our hearts we bring all our needs to the presence of God our merciful Father

PRIEST:

Loving Father, who raised up the Blessed Virgin Mary into your Heavenly Kingdom, accept our prayers which we make with faith, and bring us into your holy embrace through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

 

Nineteenth (19th) Sunday of the Year: Bidding Prayers / Prayer of the Faithful / Intercessisons

The Priest introduces the prayers:

Jesus calls us to have courage and never to be afraid. He sustains us against the perils of the world, the flesh and the devil, if we only turn to him for help. Let us ask the Father to give us grace, never to be foolhardy or cowardly, but to have courage by trusting in his love and mercy.

Reader:

We pray for the Catholic Church in all the world,that the Holy Spirit will guide and inspire the leaders of the Church, and render all her enemies powerless. 
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for peace and justice in the world,that civil officials may not oppose the will of God, and that the people of our land may choose leaders who will guide us in the path of righteousness.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for the sick and those who care for them,that those who feel God is distant from them may realise that he alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life. 
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for those departed this life,that those who have left this life in faith and fear may find eternal happiness in heaven. 
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Now let us pray with Mary, Mother of all Christians: Hail Mary.

We make our own prayers in moment of silence.

The priest concludes the prayers:

O God, the creator of life and author of every good thing, be merciful to those who transgress your laws, enlighten their minds to the error of their ways, and give them the humility to acknowledge their fault. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
