Easter Three

The Priest introduces the prayers:
Fellow pilgrims, as we journey along the way of Christ, let us pray to the Father for the Church and the world.

Reader:
We pray for the Church,
that all who preach the word of God may be bright with the living Spirit of Jesus, and that those who hear them may listen, understand and encounter Christ.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for the peoples of the world,
that the resurrection of Our Lord may be for them a sign of hope, not of conflict, and that peace and justice may prevail everywhere.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for those in need
for the elderly and infirm, who are having to accept a loss of their independence; for all with mental or physical disabilities which cause isolation or rejection; for all who are blind to the needs around them;
for the sick and those who care for them;
that we may see what Christ would have us do in our lives.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray with our blessed Lady. Hail Mary .

Let us pray in silence to our heavenly Father.

The Priest concludes the prayers:
Father, we adore you and open ourselves to your healing love. Accept us, and our prayers, dear Father, for the sake of Jesus, the Christ. Amen.

Bidding Prayers for Easter Two / Intercessions for Low Sunday / Divine Mercy

The Priest introduces the prayers:
“Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe” As we thank God for the gift of faith in the resurrection of his Son, and for the many blessings he has given us, let us bring before him all our needs.

Reader:
We pray for the Church in its ministry of forgiveness,
that she may call all men to repentance and to forgiveness and belief in him whom they have not seen.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for our world, suffering from war and conflict,
that Christ may breathe his healing power upon all peoples, that they may live together, reconciled in peace and justice.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for the sick and those who care for them,
may we show them our love and care,
and may the Lord answer our earnest prayers.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray with Mary, Mother of the risen Lord. Hail Mary .

Let us pray for a moment in silence.

The Priest concludes the prayers:
Give us grace, O Lord, to renew and enliven this parish, so that it may come alive with the presence of Christ, who lives for ever and ever. Amen.

Easter Day

The Priest introduces the prayers:
The God who raised Jesus from the dead is the Father whose name we hallow, whose forgiveness we seek, whose will we try to follow. On this Easter day we address him in the name of the risen Lord Jesus, as we pray for the Church and for the world.

Reader:
Let us pray for those who still seek the Living God
that the Lord will choose to reveal himself to them and grant them Easter joy in his presence.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us pray for ourselves, the community of the resurrection:
that filled with the spirit we may recount the deeds of the Lord and lead others to believe in him.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us pray for the sick and those who care for them,
that the risen Christ may show them his love
and give them strength to bear their sorrows.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for those who have died,
that they may rise with Christ to glory everlasting.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We join our prayers with the joyful Queen of heaven. Hail Mary .

Let us pray in silence with all the saints who share in the power of the resurrection.

The Priest concludes the prayers:
Almighty God, hear your people who gather today to celebrate the glorious resurrection of Christ your Son. Lead us from this celebration to the joys which have no end. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Maundy Thursday

The Priest introduces the prayers:
Jesus said, a new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, as I have loved you. To show our love for all God's creation, let us pray now for the Church and for the world.

Reader:
On the night he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus Christ washed his disciples feet. We commit ourselves to follow the example of love and service.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

On this night, he prayed for his disciples to be one.
We pray for the unity of the Church.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

On this night, he prayed for those who were to believe through their message. We pray for the mission of the Church.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

On this night, he gave us the Eucharist.
We pray for our Eucharistic Ministers, and those preparing to receive his body and blood.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

On this night, he commanded them to love, but suffered rejection himself. We pray for the rejected and unloved.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

On this night, he reminded them that if the world hated them it hated him first. We pray for those who are persecuted for their faith.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

On this night, he laid down his life for us. We pray for the holy souls, that they may take up the new life of his resurrection.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray with Mary, Mother of the Church. Hail Mary .

Let us pray for a moment in silence.

The Priest concludes the prayers:
Lord God, your Son taught us that what we do for the least of our brethren we do also for him: give us the will to be the servant of others as he was the servant of all, and gave up his life and died for us for us, who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.


Bidding Prayers (intercessions) for Palm (Passion) Sunday

Palm (Passion) Sunday

The Priest introduces the prayers:
In these days of Holy Week, when Christ prayed and entreated his Father in the anguish of his Passion with humility and sorrow for our sins. May our Father hear and answer our prayers out of love for his Son, Jesus Christ.

Reader:
We pray for Christian people, that through the suffering of disunity there may grow a rich union in Christ.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for those who make laws, interpret them, and administer them, that our common life may be ordered in justice and mercy.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for the sick,
that they may be given the blessings of peace and security,
 
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for the departed in Christ,
that they may find mercy on the day of Christ.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray with Mary, who shared the agony of her son. Hail Mary .

Let us pray for a moment in silence.

The Priest concludes the prayers:
Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing that you have made and forgive the sins of all those who are penitent. Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that, lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, we may receive from you, the God of all mercy, perfect forgiveness and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
