Fifth Sunday of the Year (C) : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:

With the Lord at our side we can launch out into the deep and not be afraid. Let us voice our needs and the needs of the world, confident in his saving grace.

Reader:

For our Holy Father, Pope Benedict, and for other leaders of peoples and nations: that the Lord may strengthen them to lead the world towards a true and lasting peace. Lord, in your mercy.

For those preparing for full membership in the Church and for those continuing with their First Communion and Confirmation preparations. Lord, in your mercy.

For all those called to preach the gospel, that God's grace may not be fruitless in them. Lord, in your mercy.

For young people, that they will respond to the call of God; in particular we ask that people will be chosen and invited to serve as priests, deacon and religious.
Lord, in your mercy.

We pray for all those who are suffering because of illnesses and for all who have asked for our prayers.
Lord, in your mercy.

For all those who have died, and for all those whose anniversaries occur at this time. Lord in your mercy.

Let us now ask Mary to join her prayers to ours as we say. Hail Mary....

Now let us pray for a moment in silence

Priest:

Heavenly Father, we offer all these prayers in faith,
through Jesus Christ, your Son, Our Lord. Amen.
