Easter 4: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:

Jesus our Good Shepherd, listen to our prayers for our world which so much needs you to protect, guide and lead us.


Reader:

We pray for the Church, especially Benedict our Pope and all the bishops, may they lead your people in faith and the freedom of truth. Lord, hear us.

We pray for vocations, especially to the priesthood and the religious life. May we all respond to the voice of the Good Shepherd who calls us to love and serve others. Lord, hear us.

We pray for all refugees, may they be treated with respect and dignity as sons and daughters of the Father. Lord, hear us.

We pray for the dying, may the loving Shepherd lead them to the glory of heaven. Lord, hear us.

May Mary join her prayers to ours as we pray. Hail Mary...

Let us pray for a moment in silence

Priest:

God our Father,
who raised Jesus our Good Shepherd from the dead, hear our prayers that we may all come to share in his loving Spirit. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

 

Easter 2 (Divine Mercy Sunday): Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Bidding Prayers –

Priest:

Let us turn to God asking for all our needs and the needs of the Church and of all mankind.

Reader: Let us pray that our church leaders, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit will bear witness to the good news of the Resurrection and stay true to the mission entrusted to them. 
Lord, hear us.

We pray for unbelievers and doubters that they may come to faith and trust and love of God – may our Easter joy be contagious.
Lord, hear us.

We pray for those suffering loss or injury from war, fire, flood, storm and all other natural disasters may they be comforted and supported by those around them. 
Lord, hear us.

God grant eternal rest to all who have died especially we remember those who have no-one to pray for them.
Lord, hear us.

Let us ask Our Lady to join her prayers to ours as we say - Hail Mary

In silence let us bring our own intentions to God.

Priest:

Almighty God
we ask you to answer all our prayers
which we make in faith
through Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Amen.

 

Easter Day:Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayers of the Faithful

Priest:

Jesus our saviour is risen from the dead! This is the bedrock of our Christian faith, and so with confidence we place our needs in the hands of the Father

Reader:

We pray for the Church. May all Christians rejoice in the resurrection of Christ and, as they renew their baptismal faith in him, may they be strengthened in the Holy Spirit. Lord, in your mercy...

We pray for true and lasting peace in our world. May the Risen Christ bring the gifts of peace and reconciliation to all situations of violence, hatred and division. Lord, your mercy...

We pray for all who have been received into the Church this Easter,  and for all  who have received the new life of baptism. May they grow daily in faith, hope and love. Lord, in your mercy...

We pray for the sick and housebound members of the parish. May the Risen Lord comfort and reassure them of his love.  Lord, in your mercy...

We pray for those who have died, for members of our families and for our friends who have gone before us. May the Risen Lord greet them with love and mercy and grant them the happiness of his kingdom. Lord, in your mercy...

May Mary, who knew the peace and joy of this day, join her prayers to ours as we pray, HAIL MARY...

God our Father, who raised Jesus from the dead, hear our prayers and if they are in accordance with your will for us grant them through Christ our Lord. Amen.

 

Palm Sunday: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayers of the Faithful

Priest:

God the Father sent His Son Jesus to redeem the world through His suffering and death, let us offer Him our prayers for the whole of humanity.

Reader:

Let us pray that all Christians embrace the joy of this Holy Week with a commitment to repent of past sins.  Lord in your mercy

Let us pray that world leaders use their power to protect the poor, preserve freedom and promote lasting justice and peace. Lord in your mercy

We pray for all the dead, especially for those who die alone, unloved and unwanted, that the Lord may receive them into his Kingdom. Lord in your mercy

We now seek the intercession of Our Blessed Lady, Help of Christians as we say.. Hail Mary

In the silence of our hearts we pray for our own personal intentions.

Priest:

Father as you allowed your Son to suffer for our salvation answer our prayers and grant us the grace to follow the example of Jesus, for he is Lord for ever and ever. Amen.
