4th Sunday of the Year (C) : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

BIDDING PRAYERS FOR 4th SUNDAY YEAR C

Priest: We turn to the Lord, our help and our refuge, and ask him for all we need.

Reader: For the Church, the Pope, all our bishops, priests and deacons that they may confidently proclaim the Word of God and be firm in their adherence to Christ’s message of love, especially to the poor, weak or oppressed.
Lord in your mercy.

May all missionaries - priests, religious and lay people - persevere in their work of bringing Christ to others, and receive abundant rewards.
Lord in your mercy.

For all married people:
May they all grow sensitive to each other’s needs, and grow daily more in love for each other.
Lord in your mercy.
For the sick, elderly and housebound, and those in any sort of distress: may they know the healing power of God’s love.
Lord in your mercy.
For all those in our parish or families who have died and gone before us to their eternal rest. Lord in your mercy.

Together we ask for the intercession of Our Blessed Lady as we say. Hail Mary…

Now we pray for a while in silence for our personal needs.

Priest: Heavenly Father, confident in your saving help, we offer you all our prayers through Jesus, your Son, who lives and reigns with you, forever and ever. Amen

Third Sunday of the Year (C) Bidding Prayers

Priest:

God hears the prayers of the poor and humble. Confident in his infinite goodness we pray.

Reader:

For the Pope, clergy and all who teach the Word of God:
that they will be supported and respected in their work of instructing the faithful.
Lord hear us.

For all Christian Churches
and especially the ministers and people of the Christian communities in this City:
by witnessing together to the Gospel of love and forgiveness
may the churches may be led to ever-greater unity in faith and life.

Lord hear us.

For those in the parish who most need to experience Christ's healing power:
that by our prayers, our encouragement and our example
they may have the humility and strength to approach him in the sacraments.

Lord hear us.

For all those who have died,
and for those whom we have been asked to pray:

may the Lord give them a place at his banquet in heaven.
Lord hear us.

Let us join our prayers with those of Mary as we say: Hail Mary …

Let us now pray for a moment in silence.

Priest:

Almighty God, Father of the poor,
we thank you for all you have given us.

Enable us, by your Holy Spirit,

to be generous with others as you are generous with us.
We make our prayers through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Second Sunday in Ordinary Time: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:

We turn to God in prayer for the needs of the Church and the world, that he may show us his mercy.

Reader:

For the Pope and all who have responded to God's call to ministry: that God will strengthen their service, renew their dedication and bless their works of mercy.
Lord, hear us.

For justice in the world, especially, for the poor and helpless: that we, members of the richer nations, may be generous and merciful with all that we have.
Lord, hear us.

For a deepening of prayer in our lives: that we may grow in mercy through attentiveness to God’s will.
Lord, hear us.

For those working in the emergency services, for the elderly and for those living alone: that during this spell of cold weather they may be kept from all harm.
Lord, hear us.

For those who are sick, and those who have died, especially in our own community and families: May God bless them, and us.
Lord, hear us.

We offer our prayers to God through the intercession of His blessed Mother, as we say, Hail Mary…

Let us now pray for a moment in silence.

Priest:

God, our merciful Father,
listen to all our prayers which we makein faith
through your Son, Jesus Christ, who is Lord for ever and ever.
Amen.
