Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time

Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time

Priest:

We turn to God in prayer for the needs of the Church and the world.

Reader:

For the Church: that she may preach the message of Christ to this generation, giving witness to the truth by her commitment to justice and peace.
Lord, hear us.

For the those whose homelands are being torn apart by war or rebellion: that the Lord may guide those with power to find just and peaceful solutions.
Lord, hear us.

For Sister Rose Confidence, for her family members and for all her intentions today, as she celebrates her Feast Day.

Lord, hear us.

For ourselves: that God may grant us the grace to lead better lives, following more closely the teaching of Jesus, by coming to the assistance of the needy and the outcast
Lord, hear us.

For those who have died - our friends, our relatives,  and those whose anniversaries occur at this time:
that all may come to dwell in the everlasting light of God’s love.

Lord, hear us.

We turn to Mary, Mother of Good Counsel, and ask her to assist us in our prayers as we say: Hail Mary

In the silence of our hearts, let us offer to the Lord our own personal intentions.

Priest:

God our Father,

you gave us your only Son to redeem us from sin.

Help us to accept and follow his message of eternal life.

Amen.
