All Saints’ Day (November 1st) Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

All Saints’ Day (November 1st)

The Priest introduces the prayers:

Today, we join our prayers with all the saints in heaven, who are our great cloud of witnesses, interceding for us at the right hand of the Father. Let us now ask the Lord with renewed faith, for the needs of our Church and world.

Reader:

We pray for the Church on earth,

may the saints in heaven be an example for all Christians, that they may serve God in the way he wishes.

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for peace on earth,

that those in authority may follow the example of the saints who worked for peace and love.

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for those in need, and those who care for them,

that they may see in the saints who suffered the love of Christ for them.

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for those who have died in the hope of new life,

may Christ bring them to share his glory with the Saints.

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray with Mary, Queen of the Saints: Hail Mary.

In silence, we pray with the saints, to God our loving Father.

The Priest concludes the prayers:

Lord almighty, we bring before you all our needs, trusting that you will hear and answer them, as we pray with all the saints. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

30th Sunday of the Year : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

PRIEST:

Let us pray to our Father in heaven who hears the cries of the humble.

READER:

For the church and its leaders – may it continue to preach the scriptures with fidelity, humility and in true repentance.
Lord in your mercy

On Monday the Church celebrates the feast day of Sts Simon and Jude and so we pray for all who are suffering - mentally, physically, emotionally, for those suffering from Ebola, those trying to control it and especially for those whose cases seem hopeless.
Lord in your mercy

For everyone looking for work. for those who are unemployed or underemployed -- that God will provide for them all.
Lord in your mercy

For all marriages and families that are facing hardships at home. Let us pray for reconciliation and peace for them all. May St. Jude guide them through each day that feels impossible
Lord in your mercy

For those who have died in Christ, may they receive the reward of eternal life. Lord in your mercy

Let us now pray for a moment in silence.

We now ask Mary, our Mother most pure, to intercede for us as we pray Hail Mary…

PRIEST:

Lord God, may all our words and actions spring from humble and sincere hearts. Receive our prayers in the name of Jesus our Lord. AMEN

28th Sunday of the Year : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

28th Sunday of the Year

Priest:

God is the source of all that we are and all that we have – we remind ourselves of this as we ask him for all our needs and the needs of the world.

Reader:

For the Church: that it may radiate the example of Christ through its leaders and peoples and encourage all to be called to take on the new garments of life in Christ and so be clothed in love, truth, peace and goodness.
Lord in your mercy

That we may be responsive to the calling and choosing of the Lord, remembering that nothing is impossible to God and that there is nothing we cannot master with the help of the one who gives us strength,
Lord in your mercy

For Christians around the world who are persecuted for the name of Christ, especially for the people of the Middle East - that God may come to their aid and give them strength to overcome their difficulties.
Lord in your mercy.

For the sick and housebound, for the anxious and depressed, and all who are in distress that they may be helped by those around them and comforted by God’s grace.
Lord, in your mercy.

For those who have died and for those who mourn.  May they find peace and comforted by happy memories and by the love and care of family and friends.
Lord, in your mercy.

Now, in silence, we remember those who especially need our prayers.

We ask Our Lady, Queen of the Rosary, to pray with us as we say - Hail Mary ...

Priest:

Loving Father,
listen to our petitions and grant us what we need,
through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
Amen.

27th Sunday of the Year : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

27th Sunday of the Year

The Priest says:

My brothers and sisters, in baptism each of us was sealed as a child of God and received a share in the priesthood of Christ. Now we ask God for the grace to live and work as faithful Christians.

Reader:

We pray for the Church,

that the Holy Spirit may inspire us to glorify the Lord with our lives and bring the truth of the Gospel to our neighbours and our communities.

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for those in authority,

that the rulers of all countries may seek the paths to peace.

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for all who go hungry because of poverty and injustice:
that through God’s grace we may be moved to bring about change,
so that each and every person has good food and clean water.

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for those who have died,

that they may find eternal salvation.

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray with Mary, Mother of God. Hail Mary ...

In a moment of silence, let us make our private prayers to God.

The priest concludes the prayers:

Almighty Father, may your Church, which owes its unity to the Holy Spirit, be immune to the attacks of its enemies and, just as Christ triumphed over death, may your Church emerge victorious over evil. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
