Easter 4 : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

 The Priest introduces the prayers:

The Lord is our Shepherd: there is nothing we shall want if we turn to him and ask in prayer. Let us now ask the Lord for all our needs, and for the needs of the Church and of the world.

Reader:

Let us pray for the Church which has Christ for its shepherd, that all may hear his voice when he calls and follow his way of truth and love.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us pray for all who are lost and unlooked for that the Lord will show again compassion on those who have wandered from him, and empower us to lead others to his presence.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us pray for vocations to the priesthood and the religious life: that the people of God will be fed with his word, the broken-hearted tended by his healing hand, and all those who are weak receive strength and comfort through the sacraments.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for those who have departed this life, that Christ the Good Shepherd may welcome them into his eternal fold:
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We join our prayers to the prayers of Mary. Hail Mary …

Let us pray in silence for all our needs and the needs of others.

The Priest concludes the prayers:

Almighty God, we bless you for giving your Son to be the shepherd of your people. Grant that we who are strengthened by his risen presence may follow him in our daily life. This we ask through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Easter 3 : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

The Priest introduces the prayers:

Fellow pilgrims, as we journey along the way of Christ, let us pray to the Father for the Church and the world.

Reader:

We pray for the Church, that all who preach the word of God may be bright with the living Spirit of Jesus, and that those who hear them may listen, understand and encounter Christ. Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for the peoples of the world, that the resurrection of Our Lord may be for them a sign of hope, not of conflict, and that peace and justice may prevail everywhere. Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for those in need for the elderly and infirm, who are having to accept a loss of their independence; for all with mental or physical disabilities which cause isolation or rejection; for all who are blind to the needs around them; for the sick and those who care for them; that we may see what Christ would have us do in our lives. Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray with our blessed Lady. Hail Mary ...

Let us pray in silence to our heavenly Father.

The Priest concludes the prayers:

Father, we adore you and open ourselves to your healing love. Accept us, and our prayers, dear Father, for the sake of Jesus, the Christ. Amen.

Easter 2 (Divine Mercy Sunday) : Bidding Prayers / Intercessions / Prayer of the Faithful

Priest:

Let us turn to God asking for all our needs and the needs of the Church and of all mankind.

Reader:

For Pope Francis: May we all respond to his call that we embrace with tender affection the whole of humanity. May we serve especially the poorest, the weakest and the smallest and so open a new horizon of hope.
Lord, in your mercy.

We ask God to teach us to pray so that we can wholeheartedly praise Him, seek His mercy, show our gratitude and bring all our needs to Him
Lord in your mercy

For unbelievers and doubters: that they may come to faith and trust and love of God – may our Easter joy be contagious
Lord in your mercy

For politicians worldwide that they may never try to outlaw faith in God and the peaceful signs and symbols of religion
Lord in your mercy

Grant eternal rest to all who have died especially (NN and) we remember those who have no-one to pray for them.
Lord in your mercy

Let us ask Our Lady to join her prayers to ours as we say - Hail Mary

In silence let us bring our own intentions to God.

Priest:

Almighty God we ask you to answer all our prayers which we make in faith through Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
