Bidding Prayers / Intercessions for the Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Priest:

We turn now to God our Father who resists the proud but gives his grace to the humble - recognising our need we ask for his help in our lives:

Reader:

For Pope Benedict, our bishops and for all leaders of the Church: that their lives and teachings will open us to real growth in Christ Lord hear us.

For all those who have received positions of power and responsibility whether in the Church or in society. May they not give way to pride but recognise that they are the stewards of God's blessings.   Lord hear us.

For all the troubled parts of our world, especially Egypt and Tunisia at this time of crisis.  May national leaders work collaboratively to establish hope, justice and equality for all without discrimination.                                                                               Lord hear us.

For those in need and those who care for them,We commend to your fatherly goodness all who are anxious or distressed in mind or body; comfort and relieve them in their need; give them patience in their sufferings, and bring good out of their troubles. Lord, hear us.

For the faithful departed,
Hear us as we pray for those who have died in the peace of Christ, those who have confessed the faith, and those whose faith is known to you alone, and grant us with them a share in your eternal kingdom.Lord Hear us.

Let us entrust all our intentions to Our Blessed Mother as we say Hail Mary…

Let us now pray in a moment of silence.

Priest:

Father we bring these needs to you who watch over us and who pour out your blessings on us through Christ our Lord.
