29th Sunday of the Year (21st October 2007)

Priest:
Everything we have comes from God. In a spirit of praise and thanksgiving we place our needs before him.

Reader:
Let us pray for our country: may those called to lead and govern us always seek the good of every citizen.
Lord, hear us.

Let us pray for those in prison, especially those who are imprisoned unjustly or because of their faith in Jesus Christ.
Lord, hear us.

Let us pray for our parish community that the Lord will always be among us and inspire us to be witnesses to those around us.
Lord, hear us.

Let us pray for our parishioners who have died and for all our friends and relations who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith. May they rejoice with the saints for ever.
Lord, hear us.

We turn in prayer to Mary our Mother in faith. Hail Mary …

We pray in silence for a moment.

Priest:
Lord our God,
hear our prayer.
Grant that we may have the confidence
to turn to you in every need.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
